Broadway is a great undiscovered area of Newport. It seems to be getting better and better as new restaurants and bars are continuously opening. Pop is by far my most favorite bar in Newport. In fact, if I had my ultimate night out, I would start at Pop and move on to On the Rocks around midnight.
Pop is located fairly far down Broadway, and because of its location, it provides a completely different atmosphere and crowd than what you'd find on Thames Street. The party here starts pumping a little after 10pm and flies high until closing time at 1am.
The DJ spins some great music that you just have to get up and dance to; and don't worry, usually the floor is packed so you don't have to feel like you're the only one making a fool out of yourself. It's hands down the best bar in Newport to just cut loose.
If you feel like dancing isn't quite for you, it's a great people watching bar as you sit in either their lounge area, a booth, the bar, or the couches nestled in the back next to the roaring fire.
They have a great selection on their drink list, but those specialty ones are a bit pricier. The servers are a little slow bringing out drinks and aren't very attentive, but hey, that's Newport for you!
