This seems to be the bar we frequent the most.. Why you ask? Is it the great drink selection and prices? No. Is it the kind and attractive waitresses that pride themselves on service? No. Is it because it's the closest bar to our home, and we are lazy to walk much farther? Yes!
Everything about Sambar is really hit or miss. I can recall great nights, with good music, service & friends...I can also recall nights that we walked out of the place without getting served, because we wouldn't sign a book that relieves them of responsibility if we are under 21 (I am 30 for Christ sakes and I furnished a valid RI drivers license).
The bottom line is Sambar is one of those places you go to because it's close or because you're completely wasted and need to find a bar that isn't going to kick you out when you fall out of the chair. The drinks are about average in price & quality and the service is slow most of the time. On the plus side, during the summer they do have a fenced in outdoor section that is a nice change of pace from the stuffy atmosphere inside.
