Located directly over one of Newport's most notorious hot spots, One Pelham East, Studio 3 can also draw quite a crowd, but it holds a much different atmosphere. After climbing three flights of stairs you are greeted by bumping hip-hop music and a mixed crowd of bar hoppers. Unlike The Pelham, Studio has a much more lounge atmosphere as well as a DJ in place of a live band.
If you're looking for a great cocktail then you're in the wrong place, Studio's bartenders are some of the worst in town, albeit pretty, but they can't make a drink to save their life. Never mind the fact the drinks ain't cheap either.
However, if you want to dance the night away and most likely not remember doing so the next day, then this is the place for you. Studio 3 is really the only trendy night club in Newport, and it's large enough to hold the overflow from the bar below on busy summer nights. As always, there is a pricey cover during the summer, but large groups of ladies usually get discounts.
So if you love getting your groove on, bachelorette parties, bad drinks and loud music then check this place out, otherwise steer clear.
