King's Park, Newport, Rhode Island
Robyn's Review

King's Park in Newport, RI is a great waterfront park right off of Wellington Avenue. It hosts a variety of great amenities such as baseball fields, a playground, several picnic tables in a covered pavilion, a Bandstand/Gazebo, and large open grassy areas. There's also a free boat ramp and a fishing pier. The bathrooms are surprisingly very clean and well stocked, but they do unfortunately close early. We had a party in the pavilion area on Memorial Day and the bathrooms closed at 4pm!
While swimming isn't exactly recommended at King's Park (especially after a heavy rain) many people still do. The beach is also a great spot for beachcombing.
During the summer the park hosts The Newport Independent Music Festival so there are bands that play free every Sunday afternoon. For a schedule, visit http://www.nimfest.com/.
