I love hidden fees. Who doesn't? So when I went to The Mooring for their special dinner event advertised at $40, I was ecstatic to find out that I was in fact charged $51.10. Why you ask? Once you add in the 18% percent gratuity and 8% restaurant tax of course!

It is also no secret that I love beer. I love it so much in fact I was almost going to forgive the obscene overages due to the plethora of beers I thought were going to be available. After my first round, I politely asked for another and was shot down. "Oh no…we don't give out extras. This is the Sam Adams Beer Dinner." Now I'm super happy to hear that I was overcharged for a beer dinner that doesn't provide me with enough beer.

And that's not all folks! What about the food you say? Well, the chef's at The Mooring thought it made a lot of sense to serve really fancy *weird* food at this beer dinner. How weird you ask? How about alligator and veal. Or fish and chips, sans the chips and add Frito's.

But all's well that ends well right? I won a sweatshirt from the raffle. That's right...a bonified Sam Adams sweatshirt. And it looks hot! it fits me and any other 500 pound man perfectly. I suppose you have to appeal to the masses.

Since I was overcharged, under beer-ed, and fed veal, I believe I'll smack a big upside down scoop on this beer dinner! I won't be returning and that's cool because we took 10 *free* beer glasses to make up for the evening. Suckas!
