There's no better way to wind down after a long day of work and celebrate getting one step closer to the weekend. Spirits and Stogies is held at the Top of Newport, a bar on the rooftop of the Hotel Viking. The views of Newport and the sun setting over the bridge are unparalleled.

This event happens every Wednesday night at 6pm through the Summer weeks. Each week a different cigar and liquor (or beer) is featured. While you lounge on the rooftop, smoke your cigar and drink your drinks, a liquor representative explains why this particular booze is particularly fabulous. Don't worry, this is not a heavy sales pitch and there is plenty of time to catch up with friends.

This year the cost is $25/person which includes a cigar and 3 drinks. Sometimes you are given swag and they always end the evening with a raffle in which the prize is most often a bottle of the featured liquor. Spirits and Stogies typically last a couple of relaxing hours and the manager makes sure not to oversell the event so plan in advance and reserve those seats early!
