Ocean Breeze Cafe, Newport, Rhode Island

The best clam chowder I've ever had, and not just in Newport?anywhere. I recognize that not everyone has my tastes, so I won't say it's the best you've ever had. It's rich. As such, I wouldn't want a full bowl. Just a cup. But what a cup!
I had the cup of soup chowder and half sandwich for lunch. It was plenty. The sandwich was about three inches thick, although much of that was bread.
We came back for breakfast a couple days later, and I split the Eggs Florentine with my wife. It was good, although it was better after I spiced it up with some salt and pepper. The breakfast potatoes were good, too, although they could have used some onions. Service was good for both lunch and breakfast.
Other than the chowder, the best thing about this place is probably the muffins, which you can buy on take-out. Raspberry, raspberry and chocolate chip (yeah, I kinda like raspberry), cherry?even the no-fat muffins are good.
