Was I in for a surprise when I found out that Pop Kitchen + Cocktails, already reviewed as a jumpin' hot spot, is also a first-rate eatery. The menu is traditional American Fair, but almost every dish has a unique twist. One entree found at Pop for example, is a traditional pork tender loin kicked up a notch with a sweet & spicy sauce and a mix of regular and sweet potato fries – I loved it. Another can’t miss item is their Sliders where you are able to pick from a range of combinations such as Black Angus with blue cheese and fried onions, BBQ spiced chicken and Monterey Jack, or Lamb with Feta.
Our bar/nightlife review already describes just how swank the interior of Pop is, but I just have to mention it again because they do everything right. Your seat always has an unobstructed view of one of two flat screen TVs, is located near a roaring fire and found within steps of the sexy bar.
The one down-side to this experience is the price. While the food is great, it's just a couple bucks too expensive for my tastes. I also didn't notice any off season specials either, but don't hold me to that.
What's great about Pop is that you get the best of both worlds – fun dining and a great after party; unfortunately the price tag that comes with it is just a little too high for me to award them the full 5 scoops.
