Rhode Island Quahog Company, Newport, Rhode Island
Erik's Review
03/08
Many have read about the Scoop's miserable experience at the Rhode Island Quahog Company, and how it actually lead us to create the pages you know and love. One of those readers was Quahog Company's owner, and as expected, was not pleased to be on the 'Worst Of' list. After discussing what went so terribly wrong that fateful night, I agreed to bring my five friends back for a re-review.
As stated in our mission statement, it is our goal to show that businesses strive to appeal to their customers and provide the best in costumer service and satisfaction. To be completely clear dear readers, in order to make our second review unbiased we made our presence known after the meal.
The Rhode Island Quahog Company was fairly crowded which presented a good opportunity to dine with the same initial conditions as before. We started with 3 appetizers composed of bacon wrapped scallops with a maple glaze, Quahog Stuffys, and Maryland crab cakes. This time around they were promptly delivered, along with a round of drinks. Everything was pretty darn tasty. Our only qualm so far was that the bar was out of blue berry vodka which 2 of our lady friends desired. For entrees, the boys ordered the Surf & Turf special which was composed of half a lobster and nicely sized rib-eye steak, while the ladies ordered a Seared Tuna steak, and a Sea food Medley platter. Unfortunately for the men, they ran out of rib-eyes…That was pretty disappointing, but they did make up for it by offering fillet's in its place. No one was let down with their choices and after another round of drinks were delivered by our delightful server, our opinions changed about RIQC.
Overall the quality of the food and service was a huge improvement over our last experience. Huge enough that my friends and I all agreed that there were at least a few qualities worth remembering, and would not mind coming back.
