🕶️ StyleWeekOC returns to Fashion IslandThe Gist: StyleWeekOC is coming back to Fashion Island from October 14 through 18, partnering once again with the Newport Beach Film Festival. This year's lineup features runway shows, brand activations, and appearances by California native Jamie Chung, Emmy winner Keltie Knight, and ten-year-old designer Max Alexander. Why It Matters: It brings red-carpet energy, great food, and top-tier cultural events directly to our neighborhood. It’s a fun chance to celebrate West Coast style and check out new local additions like Ralph Lauren, Varley, and Levain Bakery.
⛳ CureDuchenne Golf Shootout raises $700KThe Gist: Newport Beach-based nonprofit CureDuchenne raised over $700,000 at its 15th Annual Golf Shootout, hosted by Anaheim Ducks star Troy Terry and his wife, Dani. The two-day gathering brought athletes and community members together at Cannery Seafood of the Pacific and Monarch Beach Golf Links. Why It Matters: The tournament has generated more than $7.5 million over the years, directly helping our local organization fund research and clinical trials for Duchenne muscular dystrophy. The 2027 CureDuchenne Golf Shootout is already set for September 10–11, 2027.
