The Gist: Roborock is rolling out the red carpet for pets and their people with a free three-day “Pawp-Up” event at Fashion Island, Nov. 7–9. Guests can enjoy pet grooming by Newport Paws, talent showcases, giveaways, and a Cover Pup photo shoot for Roborock’s new Home & Hound magazine. The event also spotlights the company’s latest smart cleaning tools built for homes with pets.

🌊 Wave of Change: Newport Beach Approves Surf Park

The Gist: Newport Beach has greenlit Snug Harbor, Orange County’s first-ever surf park. The 5-acre wave pool will use Wavegarden technology to create consistent, surfable waves year-round. The project replaces part of the Newport Beach Golf Course and includes a surf academy, shop, and restaurant. Supporters say it’s a game-changer for training and recreation, while golfers mourn the loss of a beloved local course.

Now in Newport Beach, this lively 3-year-old Dalmatian–Cattle Dog mix is discovering how good life can be: daily walks, playtime with dog friends, and soft naps afterward.
