Father’s Day weekend is here, and Newport Beach knows how to do it well. Whether your ideal day looks like a classic car show, a waterfront brunch, or just wandering with a coffee in hand, there’s plenty to choose from.

This week has a little bit of everything, including the return of summer jazz, some longtime local favorites, and a few spots worth rediscovering. Hope you get outside and enjoy a little of what makes this place special.

🎷 Summertime smooth: Jazz is back

The Gist: Fashion Island’s Live on the Lawn series is back every Saturday through August 1 at the Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale’s Lawn. Running from 4 to 7 p.m., the series brings top LA jazz talent to Newport Beach, with Grammy-winning saxophonist Danny Janklow and his Elevation Band taking the stage this Saturday, June 20.
Why It Matters: This series brings the best of the LA jazz scene straight to our backyard for the perfect golden-hour hangout. It is a wonderful, free way to slow down, catch the ocean breeze, and unwind with neighbors. Eventbrite reservations are required to attend, so grab your tickets, pack a cozy blanket, and remember to leave the lawn chairs at home.
🏗️ NB developer is buying Tustin's Enderle Center
The Gist: Newport Beach-based Burnham-Ward Properties is close to finalizing its acquisition of Tustin's Enderle Center at East Seventeenth Street and Enderle Center Drive. The firm plans to redevelop the site as Campo on 17th, featuring roughly 60,000 square feet of reimagined retail plus 100 new townhome residences.
Why It Matters: Burnham-Ward is the same Newport firm behind Paseo 17 in CdM and the restoration of the Richard Neutra-designed Mariners Medical Arts on Westcliff. When they buy something, they tend to keep it for a generation.
What's Next: The acquisition is expected to close shortly, with redevelopment plans moving into the entitlements phase.

🍸 Bougainvillea, mesquite smoke, and proper cocktails

3224 Pacific Coast Hwy, Corona Del Mar
The Quiet Woman has been a Coast Highway fixture since 1965, built on the kind of consistency you can count on. It is beloved for its mesquite-grilled baseball steaks and a grass-fed Colorado rack of lamb that routinely draws crowds from out of town.
Last year, they paired their legendary Father's Day patio brunches with a savory Calabrian olive oil martini feature. While official announcements are still under wraps, the energy, award-winning wine list, and nightly live music remain unmatched.

🐳 Making the ocean feels much closer

309 Palm St, Newport Beach
Newport Beach native Captain Ryan Lawler of Newport Coastal Adventure grew up on skiffs with his seagoing dad, a legacy you can feel the second the engines fire up.
Their Coast Guard-certified Zodiacs cruise at double the speed of traditional tour boats, meaning less travel time and more face-to-face moments with the blue whales and finbacks feeding offshore. For Father's Day, booking a private charter is the move to witness the legendary summertime dolphin stampedes right at water level.
