Weekends like this are exactly why we love living here. There is something special about the neighborhood coming alive at 7:30 in the morning just to claim a barstool at Malarky’s.
It’s about the people you’re with, the poolside screens, and the shared groans when a flag hits the turf. Even if you’re only in it for the halftime show or the snacks, the energy in Newport Beach is going to be electric!

Here is everything you need to know to navigate the crowds and find the best views.

☕ The morning-after cure for the weekend blur

327 Marine Ave, Newport Beach, CA
Jasper has recently quietly claimed its place on Marine Avenue, offering a sophisticated retreat from the island’s usual bustle. The aesthetic is clean, centered around a breezy courtyard that invites a much-needed slower pace.
While the espresso is expertly dialed, the single-origin Japanese matcha from Shizuoka is the true insider’s order for a post-game Monday reset. Pair a pour-over with a buttery Balboa Island Baking Co. croissant before browsing the curated thrift shop tucked neatly in the back.

🏆 Local bragging rights and beachside watch parties

2116 W Oceanfront, Newport Beach, CA
Sitting by the boardwalk since 1969, Beach Ball has a way of making February feel like a summer afternoon. With the Pacific just outside the windows and jukebox tunes in the air, it is a grounded place to catch the Big Game Sunday on the 8th.
Things get a bit more competitive on Monday the 16th during the annual chili cook-off. For five dollars, you can taste the entries and help crown the neighborhood champion.

🏈 Game Day Favorites in Newport Beach

The Gist: The Seahawks and Patriots meet again on Sunday, February 8, for a highly anticipated championship rematch. Our local pubs and grills are ready to host the community, with doors opening as early as 7:30 a.m. at spots like Malarky’s Irish Pub. From the oceanfront views at Mutt Lynch’s to the cozy atmosphere at The Place in Corona Del Mar, there are plenty of screens and warm hospitality to go around.
Why It Matters: Gathering at these neighborhood landmarks lets us share the thrills of the game while supporting the local businesses that make Newport Beach feel like home. The game kicks off at 3:30 p.m. Arrive early at your favorite local spot to grab a table before the rush.
🌱 Garden Exchange at the Great Park

The Gist: Our local chapter of California Rare Fruit Growers is hosting a free garden exchange at the Farm and Food Lab. You can pick up plant cuttings, seeds, and even nursery pots while supplies last. It is a wonderful chance to clear out old garden tools or books and find something new for your own backyard. Experts from the state food and agriculture department will also be there to answer questions about local fruit tree health.
Why It Matters: This event helps us keep our neighborhood gardens healthy and thriving by sharing resources and learning how to protect our local fruit trees. Join the community on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. near the big orange balloon at Irvine Great Park.
