Here’s a quick reminder that Newport Beach can still surprise you!
One minute there’s a luxury wellness retreat happening aboard a yacht, the next minute you’re eating strawberries at the market while a guy plays acoustic guitar near the pier. That mix of polished and laid back is still what this town does best.

This week, we leaned into the harbor energy a little extra. Hope you find something worth putting on the calendar.

🔌 A high-power spark for Newport Harbor

The Gist: Marina Park is now home to Southern California’s first marine fast charger, installed by Aqua superPower to serve both recreational and commercial electric boats. The new unit delivers up to 24kW of power and uses a brand-agnostic CCS charging standard, meaning it works for almost any electric vessel in the harbor. Boaters can use the Aqua app to check live availability and pay for a boost right at the dock.
Why It Matters: This is a huge win for keeping our coastal waters clean and quiet. By bringing this infrastructure to Newport Beach, it makes the switch to electric boating a realistic option for locals, ensuring our harbor remains a beautiful destination for years to come.
🍃 A Big Award and a Summer Party for the ENC

The Gist: The Environmental Nature Center was recently named the 2026 Environmental Education Organization of the Year for its work in Newport Beach and Modjeska Canyon. Serving over 30,000 people annually, the ENC provides nature-based preschool and K-12 field trips for thousands of students. To celebrate, the center is hosting its annual Summer Soirée on May 30 from 5 to 10 p.m.
Why It Matters: By supporting the upcoming fundraiser, the community helps provide scholarships for Title I students and ensures that local nature education remains accessible to everyone. The Summer Soirée takes place Saturday, May 30, at the Newport Beach campus.

🛶 Harpoons, oysters, and thirty years of dockside magic.

630 Lido Park Dr, Newport Beach, CA
Still owner-operated three decades later, Bluewater Grill remains the gold standard for Cannery Village hospitality.
The rhythm here is set by the Pilikia, their harpoon boat that delivers fresh swordfish directly to the kitchen. Take a seat on the waterfront deck with a sourdough loaf and the Prawn Linguine. Between sips of a sharp margarita, look for the shell strings hanging: a local effort to restore oyster beds and keep the harbor thriving.
Ready to dock the boat for a sunset cioppino or grab a lobster roll kit for a Duffy cruise this weekend?

🏄 Coastal threads for your next shore day

103 15th St, & 3138 W Balboa Blvd, Newport Beach, CA
The 15th St Surf + Supply storefront on the Balboa Peninsula has outlasted nearly everything else on the sand since 1961. It remains a locally owned staple where the staff actually surfs the breaks right outside the door.
Plan ahead for the Memorial Day long weekend: the shelves are stocked with handmade Slightly Choppy crews and other breezy options. Whether you need a board rental or a nostalgic Hoffman Fabrics print, it feels like a modern general store.
Click here to be the business everyone hears about next week!

Meet Noodle, an eight month old Terrier mix
Weighing a delicate 10 lbs, she was found abandoned in a difficult area, yet she remains remarkably trusting and gentle. She has a signature prance that brightens up the neighborhood sidewalks and a loyal heart that keeps her following closely behind her favorite people.
She is docile, affectionate, and well suited for a home with other pets or respectful children. Located in our local community, her adoption fee is $450.
